On May 8, more than 300 Wesleyan students received University prizes and awards during a reception. At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology to addresses an important societal need or issue. Approximately 1,700 students were named to Biola University's Dean's List for academic excellence in Fall 2018. Students who achieved a grade point average of 3.60 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credit units and whose cumulative grade point average is at least a 3.20 are placed on the Dean's List. Students and Psychology Professor Coauthor Paper on Self-Memory Advantage
Kyungmi Kim Assistant Professor of Psychology Kyungmi Kim, Youngbin (Amabel) Jeon '19, Alexis Banquer '20, and Danielle Rothschild '19 are coauthors of a study published in the October 2018 volume of Consciousness and Cognition. In the paper, "Conscious awareness of self-relevant information is necessary for an incidental self-memory advantage," Kim and her students examine the relative contributions of conscious vs. unconscious self-processing to the incidental self-reference effect.

Pietrowicz, Fox and Senior Quartet Headline Men's Rowing's NIRC and NERC Accolades
Sophomore Brandon Fox claimed the WPI men's rowing NERC All-Scholar award and junior Nathan Pietrowicz was named to the NIRC All-Stewards Team following the May regattas. Additionally, 15 members of the team, including Fox and four three-time honorees, earned NIRC All-Academic Team accolades.

Rowing Varsity Eight Tabbed as WPI Student-Athlete of the Week
The Varsity Eight from the rowing team has been tabbed as the WPI Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 8th. Nathan Pietrowicz, Jeremy Hemingway, Michael Eaton, Ben Thornton, Trevor Dowd, Frank Campanelli, Isaac Beeman, Lorenzo Dube and coxswain Kenedi Heather bested Wesleyan by less than a second to retain the Class of 2003 Cup on Saturday. The crew then raced as two fours, with Heather hot-seating, to defeat Bates, Hamilton and Conn College in both races. Bates and WPI will battle again next weekend in the eights.

Mone Ford sworn into UA AFROTC
University of Alabama undergraduate Mone Ford is now contracted with UA AFROTC. Twenty University of Alabama undergraduates were contracted into UA's Air Force ROTC detachment on Thursday, Sept. 21 at "Bama Salute," a UA Athletics-sponsored event that honors active duty military members and veterans at various UA sporting events throughout the year. The UA cadets were sworn in at a UA soccer game in front of nearly 700 people, an atypical but celebrated venue and audience, as contracting ceremonies are typically low-key, with family and other cadets and ROTC cadre present.
